What is this surah about?
An-Nasr is one of the last surahs to be revealed. It speaks of the day when Allah's help and victory come, and the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sees people entering Islam in large groups. Allah then tells him to praise his Lord and ask His forgiveness, because Allah always accepts those who turn back to Him. The lesson: when something good happens, thank Allah.
A short explanation for children, not a translation.
How to memorise it
- Listen. Listen to the first verse a few times. Follow the words with your finger.
- Repeat. Say the verse after the reciter, bit by bit, until you can say it in one go.
- Recite. Recite the verse without looking. In Hudhudo the app listens and shows which words you already got right.
- One verse a day. Only add the next verse once the one before it is solid. Always start from the first verse.
- Review tomorrow and after a week. What you review, you keep. In Hudhudo, smart review shows which surahs are due again.
Tip for parents who don't read Arabic
You don't need to read Arabic to help. Play the recitation and listen together. Then let your child recite the verse to you and count the verses on your fingers. Ten minutes at a fixed time each day, for example after dinner, is enough.
Practise this surah in the app
In Hudhudo your child listens to the verse, repeats it and recites it, while Hudhudo listens and cheers them on. Try it for free.
